Hospitality venue categorisation (634/2020)
We assessed the domestic supply, defined the typical venue types and built a criteria system proposing business types that cover today's hospitality offer, together with methods for registration and sector-level data collection. After broad professional consultation with key sector players, we formulated a concrete legislative-amendment proposal. The hospitality-venue business types we developed were incorporated into Government Decree 634/2020 (XII. 22), giving the research a direct legislative impact.

Project detail
The project supported quality hospitality: assessing the domestic supply and precisely defining the typical venue types. Based on our supply analysis we set up a criteria system, proposed business types covering today's supply, and developed possible methods for registration and sector-level data collection. We closed the project with broad professional consultation with key sector players, then formulated a concrete legislative amendment proposal. The result did not stay on paper: the hospitality-venue business types we developed appeared in Government Decree 634/2020 (XII. 22). This project most clearly shows that connecting academically rigorous research with market reality can achieve measurable, even legislative-level impact.
